Exploration Potential
Smooth Rock has begun an initial 2026 Exploration Program in April, that will include regional sampling, mapping and prospecting This initial exploration program is designed to build off previous successful exploration programs on the Giroux Property.
Previous regional geological mapping and sampling programs yielded significant results. Samples were taken from outcrops, old workings and old mine dumps. Highlights included: 1% Ni (Nickel), 23.5 g/t Au (Gold), 7.67% Cu (Copper) and 9.87 g/t Ag (Silver). A Geophysical program was also completed on the Property, indicating several potential drill targets.
In 2020-2021, Smooth Rock completed Phase I of the Giroux exploration program that consisted of reconnaissance prospecting, geological mapping, surface trenching, sampling, and relocating historical workings. The previous and current exploration programs will provide accurate modern data to assist in the planning of the initial 2026 drill program.
Drilling will focus on the surface exposures around the historical workings throughout the property, as confirmed by the Company’s past and current regional geological mapping and sampling programs. The initial drill program is expected to occur later in 2026.
